OUR STORY
Shortly after reaching their 40s, Leigh and Nicole Cordes noticed a change in their lifestyle and weight, and activities that once seemed effortless quickly became a struggle. In an effort to regain their active way of life, the couple soon placed their diet under the microscope. With a background in agriculture, a nutritionist education, and partnerships with local and Alberta-based producers, the Cordes' decided to answer the demand from Strathmore residents to open a market and cafe dedicated to providing the community with conscious, nutrient-rich foods.
In the Spring of 2015 Leigh and Nicole purchased a commercial property in downtown Strathmore, spent their summer renovating and opening Back To Good - Market & Cafe, and on November 2nd, 2015 opened its doors. Specializing in providing healthy, fresh, local, nutritious food by way of offering a lunch menu and a whole foods market. Nicole also offers nutritional consulting in-store, which includes a complete assessment of diet and lifestyle, a kitchen pantry clean-out and recommendations of healthy changes to make to improve all aspects of body, mind and spirit.

MEET NICOLE CORDES

MEET LEIGH CORDES
Nicole was born and raised on a farm in southeast Alberta by two very hardworking parents along with my 4 siblings. A definite country girl at heart marrying her high school sweetheart in 1994, Leigh Cordes. Nicole and Leigh started a mixed farm of their own in their hometown, but it began to wear them down as they tried to manage the crops & cattle, and raising two babies. In the fall of 2004, Nicole and Leigh decided to sell the farm and move on to British Columbia in search of new endevors and a new community. After much consideration an exploration, they decided to come back to Strathmore, Alberta and purchase an Oil and Gas business. This business kept us very busy, as well as Nicole obtaining her real estate license and selling real estate full time. Their two children kept them equally busy with their involvement in sports and school activities.
In the winter of 2014, Nicole was doing some research into Holistic Nutrition and became very excited about making this into a new career path. She had always been interested in Nutrition and strongly believed much of our illness and disease is a result of what we are putting into our bodies. She really wanted to help people discover how good they could feel and look by addressing all aspects of life being body, mind and spirit. After enrolling into the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Calgary, Alberta she graduated with my diploma as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist.
